AMD Catalyst 10.10 - Mehr Leistung und neue Funktionen

Der neue AMD Catalyst 10.10 unterstützt alle ATI- und AMD-Grafikkarten seit der ATI Radeon HD 2000-Serie bis hin zu den neuen AMD Radeon HD 6850 und AMD Radeon HD 6870 sowie Chipsätze mit integrierter Radeon HD 3000- oder 4000-Grafik.

Neu ist die Hardware-Unterstützung für WMV-HD-Videos unter Windows 7, verbesserte dynamische Kontraststeuerung und die 3D-Unterstützung HD3D für 3D-Blu-rays und für Spiele in stereoskopischem 3D. Außerdem verspricht AMD verbesserte Leistung in einigen Spielen und Benchmarks.

AMD wird den Catalyst-Treiber ab sofort in zwei Versionen anbieten. Der AMD Catalyst ist vergleichbar mit den bisherigen Treibern und enthält die Treiber- und Catalyst Control Center-Komponenten. Der AMD Catalyst Accelerated Parallel Processing Technology Edition enthält zusätzlich einen OpenCL-Treiber für parallele Berechnungen auf den Grafikchips. Der Download ist wie immer bei AMD möglich.

Für die neuen AMD Radeon HD 6850 und Radeon HD 6870 gibt es bereits einen neueren Hotfix-Catalyst 10.10a, der mehr Leistung für Starcraft 2, Alien vs. Predator und OpenGL-Spiele verspricht.

This release of AMD Catalyst enhances the Dynamic Contrast setting found in the Catalyst Control Center by adding histogram based detection
