    Stimmt, nächstes mal gleich das englische Wiki. :D
    Hab Arch das letzte Mal 2013 neu aufgesetzt, seit dem habe ich das Wiki nicht mehr gebraucht, der Rechner lief 6 Jahre problemlos.

    Danke auch Dir murray, ich hatte mich gestern zwar etwas rein gelesen bezüglich Radeon, waren aber alles ältere Beiträge.

    Hab Arch gestern neu aufgesetzt, läuft alles problemlos, Spiele sichern war auch ganz simpel, Download anstoßen, bei 1% pausieren, Ordner rüber kopieren und dann Daten verifizieren.

    Hah, eine Frage habe ich doch nochmal.

    Hat hier jemand Erfahrung mit Multimedia in einer Virtualbox mit Windows?

    SkyTicket hat ja diesen Player eingeführt, so das man auf der Webseite nur noch die Serie oder den Film anwählt und dann öffnet sich der Player.
    Manchmal lasse ich ne Doku quasi als Hörbuch nebenbei laufen oder auch anderes, geht ja bei Sky unter Linux so nicht.
    Klar, ausprobieren aber bevor ich jetzt ne virtuelle Maschine aufsetze, vielleicht hat da ja jemand Erfahrung mit.
    Zumal das mit der virtuellen Maschine auch nervig wäre, da ich nur eine Windows 10 Lizenz habe.

    Kann nur sagen, dass die Grafikfunktionalität in VirtualBox VMs extrem limitiert ist (wenn man nicht gerade total nerdig drauf ist und zwei GraKas hat von denen man eine komplett an die VM weiterreicht). Aber ich sage mal so, für "Entwickler"* (*hust*) bietet MS fertige VMs von Win 7 / 8.1 / 10 hier an, wo die Lizenz nach einer Weile abläuft und man dann rearm machen kann:

    Damit könnte man ja mal was austesten bevor man seine "richtige" Lizenz verbrät...

    *Ich arbeite tatsächlich als WebDev und nutze die VMs "hauptsächlich" für die Arbeit / den von MS vorgesehenen Zweck, daher habe ich überhaupt erst davon erfahren - aber ich habe jetzt auch kein schlechtes Gewissen, da mal privat was zu testen ;-)

    In der heutigen Zeit unverschämt, dass man sich ein Botnet installieren muss, um Streamangebote am PC nutzen zu können. Andere Anbieter schaffen es ja auch, dass das im Browser läuft.

    Danke nochmal an Jan und auch an Dich murray, es ist tatsächlich nervig aber Linux ist eben nach wie vor eine Nische, also macht man das Beste daraus.
    Ich hatte im Februar und im März schon mal ein wenig mit Proton rum experimentiert, habs dann aber wieder etwas aus den Augen verloren, mein "Main Game" läuft nativ (Albion Online) und der Rest war eher nebenbei.

    Das mit der virtuellen Maschine klappt ganz gut, reicht ja auch für Sky und was die Spieleunterstützung mit Proton angeht, wow.

    Mal abgesehen von KCD, FSX mit Addons und Shadow of the Tomb Raider läuft alles super.

    Pff. Naja, war wohl nix mit Tomb Raider. Auf dem PC wird man schön gemolken mit einem tollen "Bundle" für 60 Euro, während man sich die boxed PS4 Version für 40 Euronen kaufen kann :-( Feral / Linux Support hin- oder her. Ein bisschen verarscht fühlt man sich da schon...

    EDIT: okay, nach Blick auf den Kontostand: Shice der Hund drauf - hab in den sauren Apfel gebissen und es trotzdem schön brav zum Vollpreis (+PayPal sogar noch o_O) im Feral Shop gekauft.

    A Year of Rain (Daedalic) hat Linux als "TOP Priority" auf seiner Roadmap. Schade, dass frühe Reviews vom Early Access am meistens negativ sind.

    Ich bin ausgesprochen positiv überrascht von der Performance von Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Läuft hier auf meiner Möhre viel flüssiger, als der Vorgänger. Bei ROTTR habe ich auf Medium runtergedreht gehabt und trotzdem immer mal wieder Ruckler gemerkt. Hier ist das maximal kurz beim Betreten eines neues Abschnitts der Fall. Im Benchmark z.B. direkt am Anfang vom Dschungel. Aber dann ist einfach alles smooth und fluffig, sowohl im Benchmark, als auch wenn ich Ingame wilde Sperenzchen mit den Controller mache, was bei ROTTR eigentlich todsicher zu Rucklern geführt hat. Und dass, obwohl es hier Städte mit NPCs gibt, wo in ROTTR ja nur "Einöde" war.

    Naja, spätestens zur nächsten Konsolengeneration ist dennoch trotzdem glaube ich mal so langsam 'ne "neue Möhre" fällig :D

    Denke, dass das wohl eins der besten Ports von Feral ist, wenn immerhin fast 99% der Performance im Vergleich zur Windows Version erreicht werden. Sicherlich profitiert man davon, dass das Spiel auch DX12 untersützt. Aber wirklich beeindruckend.


    Valve hat auch eine neue Proton Version veröffentlicht, mit beginnenden Support für Direct3D 12 :hoch:

    Soderle. Die Tage kommt dann der Ryzen 3700X + neues Board. Ist schon 'ne Weile her, dass ich meinem Linux CPU und Board unterm Arsch weggezogen habe.
    Müsste aber alles glatt gehen wenn in der fstab die Festplatten mit UUID eingetragen sind?

    Soderle, Upgrade hat reibungslos geklappt. Nur mit cpupower / AMD Cool'n'Quiet muss ich glaube ich noch etwas konfigurieren. Hat da jemand Ahnung von?
    Also Sache ist die: mit den Default Options im Bios rödelte die CPU hier direkt auf 3600MHz default los sobald ich dann mal ein paar Programme schnell "gleichzeitig" geöffnet habe pushte der direkt auf ~4300Mhz+. Das ist zwar alles flott, aber auch mächtig laut und imho Energieverschwendung. "cpupower frequency-info" gab dann auch das Ergebnis: kann keine Infos holen und ich konnte keine der cpufreq Kernel Module laden.

    Habe dann nach Google Befragung im Bios Cool'n'Quiet auf "enabled" gestellt. Jetzt kommt mir der "normale" Betrieb so vor, wie ich es gewohnt bin. Lüfter schön leise, CPU Frequenzen dengeln so rum und gehen bei Bedarf hoch. Allerdings scheint es jetzt keine Möglichkeit mehr zu geben in den "Boost" reinzukommen.

    Zockt jemand von euch Anno 1800 über Lutris? Ich hab das jetzt wieder seit längerem gestartet und nach den Updates geht nix mehr, außer der Ladebildschirm von anno. Bei Release hat das jedoch wunderbar funktioniert und ich war gute 30h im Spiel versumpft.

    Bin da auch nicht up to date. Aber ich hätte jetzt auch gedacht, dass man Cool'n'Quiet nicht im Bios aktivieren muss. Der CPU Govenor unter Linux müsste sich automatisch darum kümmern, die CPU runterzutakten.

    Für den CPU Govenor gibts ja mehrere Modi, z.B. powersave, der die CPU nur mit der niedrigsten Frequenz laufen lässt.

    Die Extension ist nur eine GUI für cpupower. Und AMD hat schon seit Ewigkeiten nur "schedutil" und "perfomance" als Govenors. Allerdings liefern mit dem Ryzen jetzt beide exakt das gleiche Ergebnis, wohingegen mein FX-8320 bei "perfomance" auf 'n festen MHZ Wert gewechselt ist. Ohne Cool'n'Quiet (oder bei Intel eben dem Pendant dazu) kann das Betriebssystem überhaupt keine Pstates setzen. Habe ich wie gesagt schon Dank Google herausgefunden. Komisch ist halt nur, dass ich 0 Boost-Zustände habe. Da habe ich in der Ausgabe von anderem im Netz eigentlich meist auch noch 'ne Liste von 3 weiteren Turbo-Pstates gesehen. Ich checke glaube ich mal, wie aktuell das Bios ist. Ansonsten ist eh jetzt grad die GTX 970 die "Bremse" bei mir und ich habe eh gerade nix auf der Platte, was die CPU ernsthaft auslasten könnte. Bei Shadow of the Tomb Raider ist jetzt GPU auf 99% im Gegensatz zu 86% Prozent vorher im Benchmark.

    Also unter Windows reichen die Bios-Modi. Da macht das Profil unter Windows dann keinen nenneswerten Unterschied im Verbrauch, selbst wenn die CPU permanent mit vollem Takt läuft. Weiß aber nicht genau wie das bei AMD/Linux ist.

    Bei meinem Thinkpad brauche ich eh throttled weil Lenovo zu blöd ist das im Bios zu fixen. Da darf die CPU viel zu wenig Watt verbrauchen.

    Ja, nach noch mehr Leserei denke ich auch, die grundsätzliche Funktion sollte eigentlich unabhängig vom Betriebssystem sein, weil es ein BIOS / CPU Feature ist.
    Werde wie gesagt mal nach BIOS Update gucken. Kann halt auch sein, dass die Turbo Funktion bei AMD grundsätzlich anders funktioniert als bei Intel und mich deswegen nur die Ausgabe von cpupower irritert. Immerhin sagt er ja, dass Boost verfügbar ist - nur dass es eben keine gesonderten PStates dazu gibt.
    Die Sachen, die ich sonst im Netz gefunden habe, beziehen sich halt fast ausschließlich auf Intel - was bei der Verbreitung - insbesondere in der letzten Generation - ja kein Wunder ist.
