Der Publisher THQ Entertainment hat neue Screenshots aus der PC-Version des Actionspiels Red Faction: Guerrilla veröffentlicht.

Red Faction Guerrilla Die Veröffentlichung der PC-Version des Actionspiels Red Faction: Guerrilla steht kurz bevor. Dies nimmt der Publisher THQ Entertainment zum Anlass, um Sie nochmals auf das kampfbetonte Geschehen einzustimmen. Zu diesem Zweck stehen ab sofort zahlreiche neue Screenshots in unserer Online-Galerie für Sie bereit, die allesamt aus der PC-Version stammen.

Die Konsolenfassung von Red Faction: Guerrilla ist bereits seit einigen Wochen auf dem Markt. Die PC-Version soll nach derzeitigen Planungen am 18. September 2009 erscheinen.

As promised, here's some additional PC information. We're still hitting the street dates of Sept. 15th / 18th, depending on your location.

1.) Dedicated Servers
There will not be dedicated servers for multiplayer. While we know many of you feel strongly about that, we are sticking with the P2P model like the console version.

2.) PC DLC
The PC Version of Red Faction Guerrilla will ship with the following:

•DLC Pack 1 (Demons of the Badlands) already packaged on the disc.
•Bagman and Team Bagman Modes from our up and coming DLC Pack 2
•Two Exclusive Multiplayer Maps (see below)
•Six Additional Wrecking Crew maps
3.) PC Exclusive Multiplayer Maps
The PC Version of Red Faction Guerrilla will receive two exclusive multiplayer maps, in addition to the regular rotation. You can see some quick previews of them below. These will not be available to 360/PS3 players.

Finally, since I saw this asked above, the ostrich hammer is part of the main game - there's no need to "mod it in". I'll go update the FAQ now with this new info.

Übrigens ist die deutsche Version zensiert. Es gibt aber eine österreichische unzensierte Version.

also ich hab mir dieses spiel bei world of video für 38,99 bestellt, besser als amazon.de und dort steht erstens "UNCUT" und zweitens 18.09.09.

aber apropo flugzeug zum thema des ersten poster, das eine bild sieht sehr danach aus als wenn man in der pc version mit den dingern fliegen könnte!!!!

Hört sich ja schwer nach geschlampter Portierung an. Dedizierte Server sind einfach ein muss für jeden vernünftigen Mehrspielermodus auf dem PC! Sehr schade, weil die Mehrspielervideos vielversprechend wirkten (im starken Kontrast zum Einzelspielermodus).

From what I understand "listen server" means, yes, RFG uses a listen server model. Players matchmake attempting to find other players and once a group is formed, one player is chosen as the host of the game (based on various quality of service methods).

What's happening is that we have a lot of terms that are being thrown around fairly loosely.

Game networking models:
Client-server = One user (player or dedicated server) is chosen as the authority of the game and all clients must authenticate with the server. This is typical in shooters.
Peer to peer = Every player networks with every other player for their actions. This is typical in RTS games.

On top of that, you have synchronous/asynchronous, but that's usually split evenly - client-server models are asynchronous and p2p models are synchronous. Off the top of my head, I can't think of any synchronous client-server games or asynchronous p2p games.

So. The very basic (and hopefully definitive!) answer is that RFG uses a client-server model. RFG 360 and RFG PS3 support only "listen servers," where a player in the game acts as the server. I don't know if RFG PC will support dedicated servers.
