Our quest has failed. All the men are dead.

There was a storm. There were cries, screams, and death rattles. Men drowned before they even hit the water. Waves as big as mountains crashed into our galley. Then it all went dark – I succumbed to the ocean, and I fell into the black, bottomless abyss.

I thought all was lost, but Crom must have wanted me to suffer more. Or maybe it was Mitra giving me another chance? All I know is that I woke up with sand in my eyes.

We must have foundered somewhere among the Barachan Isles. There are treacherous waters here, but most of the ships and their crew that meet their doom here do so at the sword-point of the local pirates – not by the rage of storms. Nevertheless, I waited on the beach until nightfall before I made my way through the jungle towards civilization.
