Die Frage nach der Zukunft von X4: Foundations hat das deutsche Entwickler-Studio Egosoft am Wochenende mit Infos zu den kommenden Updates 2.0, 2.5 und 3.0 und der ersten Download-Erweiterung beantworten.

So wird der erste Bezahl-DLC die Rasse der Split mit eigenen Schiffen, Stationen und neuen Raumsektoren ausbauen. Allerdings dauert es noch etwas länger bis zum Release der Erweiterung, vorher soll nämlich noch mindestens Update 3.0 veröffentlicht werden.

Diese Features bringen Update 2.0,2.5 und 3.0 für X4: Foundations

Update 2.0

  • Mit den neuen Spieler-Schiffswerften könnt ihr eigene Schiffe und Flotten bauen. Die Schiffe können auch an andere Fraktionen verkauft werden.
  • Die KI-Crews der Schiffe sammeln Erfahrung und steigen im Fähigkeiten-Rang auf. Allerdings ist Egosoft nicht mit der Balance zwischen den Stufenaufstiegen zufrieden und will die Anforderungen anpassen.

Update 2.5

  • Versorgungsschiffe als neuer Schiffstyp. Die Schiffe sollen wie mobile Ausrüstungsdocks funktionieren.
  • Start der Linux-Beta von X4. Vielleicht kommt die Version sogar schon etwas früher.
  • TrackIR- / Tobii-Unterstützung: Die optionale Bewegungssteuerung soll bis spätestens zu diesem Update eingebaut werden.
  • Sektoren blacklisten: Mit diesem Feature befehlt ihr euren KI-Schiffen bestimmte Sektoren unter allen Umständen zu vermeiden.

Update 3.0

  • Sektoren-Kontrolle soll ausgebaut werden. So soll man letztlich seine eigene Fraktion erstellen können.
  • Neue und verbesserte Kampfmissionen. Diese Missionen sollen auch mit der Forschung im Spieler-Hauptquartier verbunden werden.
  • Vielleicht wird es möglich, das Spielerhauptquartier zu verlegen.
  • Andocken im Raumanzug an Stationen soll eingebaut werden. Außerdem soll es möglich werden in NPC schiffen mitzufliegen, indem man den NPCs entsprechende Missionen anbietet.
  • Update 3.0 soll auch einen neuen Spielstart liefern, der einige interessante Features einführt.

Zwischen den großen Updates werden wahrscheinlich noch kleinere Bugfixes veröffentlicht, außerdem sollen in allen Updates die Missionen verbessert werden.

Das Update 2.0 soll im Februar veröffentlicht werden, ihr könnt aber schon jetzt die Beta-Version von Update 1.60 ausprobieren. Wie das geht fasst Egosoft auf Steam im Detail zusammen:

Auch der Online-Modus, der derzeit in der Beta läuft, soll weiter ausgebaut werden. In den Online-Ventures können die Spieler von der KI gesteuerte Raumschiffe in die Universen anderer Spieler schicken - bislang geht das pro Spieler aber nur mit einem Schiff.
